Panchakarma Therapies

Panchakarma -The Ultimate in Mind-Body Healing & Detoxification
Panchakarma is not only for detoxifying the body, but also for rejuvenation, the ultimate mind-body healing experience by strengthening the immune system, and restoring balance and well-being. It is one of the most effective healing methods in Ayurveda.
Normally the body has the innate ability to efficiently process and remove these waste materials. However, due to one’s repeated dietary imprudence, poor exercise patterns, lifestyle, and genetic inclination, the digestive enzymes, metabolic co-factors and hormones which regulate the body’s internal stability become chaotic. Thus, this leads to the accumulation and spread of toxins throughout the body resulting in disease.
Panchakarma will remove the toxins and correct imbalances in the body’s own organs and channels of elimination (colon, sweat glands, lungs, bladder, urinary tract, stomach, intestines, etc). Panchakarma purifies the tissues at a very deep level.
The Panchakarma Treatment has three stages
Purva karma (Preparatory stage)
At the beginning of the therapy, the body is prepared for the actual process of elimination. This is done by the following processes, administered for the first 4 -5 days
The Paschat karma (Rejuvenation).
This post-cleansing period (Paschat means after) is extremely important. It is when the cleansed body is slowly brought back to normal life.

This is the main part of the Panchkarma ritual, this may last for 5 days, 10 days, or more, depending on the treatment prescribed by the doctor.
The panchakarma is tailored to individual needs and may involve the five Basic Cleansing Methods;
Vamana: therapeutic vomiting or emesis
Virechan: purgation
Basti: enema
Nasya: elimination of toxins through the nose
Rakta Moksha: detoxification of the blood
